I am back.

How many of us start a project and drop it after only weeks? It could be a weight loss program, an exercise routine, your annual business plan, etc... I am no different except I am coming clean right now with you all. I started my blog with the intent of writing weekly. Then I struggled with what to say after awhile. I am back and am taking a fresh approach to this worthwhile project.

My goal in creating this blog was two fold: give credit to my Dad and my family for lessons taught and to share these lessons with you in hopes of providing inspiration. I think I attacked this with the usual verve and then lost steam. Does this sound familiar to you?

I am adjusting my approach so that I can still accomplish my main objectives, but without the unreasonable expectation of perfection. I am now committed to sharing these life lessons with you, but I will focus on small moments that had impact in my life. I've realized that the small moments add up and not everything has to be BIG and MONUMENTAL.

Small gestures, small tokens of recognition, small voices of feedback, small steps taken all lead to making a difference. I will commit to recognizing the small moments. How about you? Walking through life acknowledging the difference you can make in small ways is what people will remember. I have feared that my tombstone would say, "Jodi was a really great employee at Coldwell Banker Triad Realtors." Now don't get me wrong...I am proud of my efforts, accomplishments, and vision at my company, but I want to be remembered for qualities that go deeper into the heart and soul!

I have finally realized that my work is an important part of who I am and I offer small moments daily to those around me that, hopefully, make a positive difference. Fairness is important to me as is accountability in actions around me. Being a responsible person is a good thing. I have broad shoulders and have learned to handle much in my life from my experiences-good and bad. My Dad teaches me regularly to make the most of every moment, My Mom teaches me restraint, and the rest of my family keeps me grounded. These lessons have not appeared in big ways, but in small moments. I get it now!

I wish for each of you that "light bulb" moment where you realize and accept the wonderful small moments you provide and receive daily. They are so important! If you have left a project, it is okay to go back and adjust. Step out, take action, enjoy, and acknowledge your uniqueness!

I am back and I am with you!
